1 Select Your Business Portfolio

Go to business.facebook.com and click on your business name in the top-left. Select the business portfolio that your WhatsApp account is connected to.

2 Navigate to WhatsApp Accounts

In the left sidebar, click Settings (gear icon at bottom). Under Accounts, click WhatsApp accounts. This shows all WhatsApp Business accounts linked to your portfolio.

3 Go to Billing & Payments

Click the billing icon in the left sidebar (or go to Billing & payments). You'll see tabs for Ad accounts, WhatsApp Business accounts, and Meta Verified accounts. Click the WhatsApp Business accounts tab.

Tip: If you don't see the Billing & payments option, make sure you have Full control or Finance access to the business portfolio.

4 Add Payment Method

Click Add payment method under your WhatsApp Business account. Enter your debit or credit card details. Once added, make sure the payment method is set as Default — this ensures Meta can charge for WhatsApp message usage.

Important: Your payment method must be set as Default for your WhatsApp Business account, not just for the business portfolio. Check that the 'Default' badge appears next to your card under the WhatsApp Business accounts section.
